Alisa Zalosh lives in a seaside town north of Boston and spends time each summer on the coast of Maine. Both of these locales—and the activities she enjoys in each place—serve as inspiration for the paintings behind her colorful stationery and art prints. 

A marketing professional and business writer by trade, Alisa launched ABZ Paintings in late 2023 after years of painting (mostly) as a hobby and creating stationery as gifts for friends and family. Alisa spent many years as a child painting alongside her mother, an accomplished watercolor artist, for pleasure; these early years of watercolor exploration provided the foundation for her artistic endeavors today. Alisa particularly enjoys turning mundane objects—such as sporting equipment or nautical hardware—into visually appealing compositions by focusing on shape, color, and negative space.

Alisa's professional experience includes marketing and business development roles at a range of early-stage technology companies, case study writing and development for MBA programs, and marketing communications consulting. A graduate of Duke University (BA) and Columbia University (MBA), Alisa lives with her husband, two teenage daughters, and their incredibly smart terrier, Freddy.
